I am granddaughter of Lucy Jane & William Howatson Hut Woodman who were cousins, I understand. My father, Robert Steven Woodman was one of eight of their children. Lucy & "Hutty" settled in Keephills, Alberta in the early 1900's. Very interesting to read a little of the "Woodman" history. I think it was in the late 1950's that my parents visited Gaspe & met many of the Woodman clan.

My father was Robert Hayward Sinclair of Coullen's Brook , mom was Alice Maude Ross of Nerw Carlisle , doing a new Sinclair Tree , grandmother Emma Knight Matilda Casey , was married to Steven Woodman when he drowned she married William Allan Sinclair . I have some of her siblings (Casey)but can not find parents .

I am a direct descendant of Edward Woodman of Newbury and the Woodmans of Newfoundland through the marriage of Edward's second great grandson, Capt. Joshua Woodman II who married Lois Woodman. They were the second great grandparents of my grandmother, Lillian Woodman (1887-1976). It would be great if anyone has info on the Newfoundland Woodmans. I only have the parents and grandparents for Lois. According to Eloise Woodman, there was no ancestral link between these two families.
